John provides solution design and consulting services, bringing intelligent systems insight to bear on real world organisational challenges.

With a career spanning the early days of desktop publishing to pioneering projects in the first Internet revolution, John is able to offer the depth of insight and experience organisations and communities require to make strategic knowledge management decisions.

A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy with dual major in Marine Engineering and Nautical Science (1982), John has developed most of his professional skills through solution design work for community, education, and large public agency clients.

After working for several years in Japan under contract to Sony's New Media division, John immigrated to Australia in 1995. In 2004 John earned a MAppSc (Distinction) in Organisational Development from University of Western Sydney with a thesis on Local Food Systems.

He established Australian Community Foods in 1998 as an experiment in public-good autopoiesis and is active in a number of alternative community development strategies (see General Evolution Advocacy and Research)

Recruited by BoaB in 2007 to join the Semantic Technologies team, John remains a keen student of informatic philosophies and complex systems.
